Mew News: An Overdue Journal

News

Wow has it been a long time since I've updated this thing, hasn't it? Sorry guys....School has consumed my life.

But NO MORE! :3

Summer has just started and we are all ready to take advantage of this summer and cospray(yes, cospray, not with an l...we've eliminated it from our vocabs lol) the heck out of it. We have a lot to do this summer, that's for sure, so we have our work cut out for us XD.

A lot of changes have been made to the muffins since the last entry was made. A LOT. First and foremost,

and

have moved away. Well, Stephiroth has been far away for a while, but still, and just recently, Jesus(Miss Kate) has gotten married and is now living in Boston (Go give her congrats!). So with those two far away, it makes it difficult for senshi cosplay. Not only that, but we had to drop

(original Jupiter) and

(original Uranus) as some of you are pretty well aware of at this point. Both were really never interested in cosplay, and only did it because

had asked. But one is in Japan at this time, and the other one just doesn't care enough to bother, so we have been short-handed on cosplayers. I don't think we've had a full set of cosplayers for the senshi since...OhayoCon2007...eesh.

However~!

We have some new recruits :3. I know we'll never be able to replace Kate ever being Pluto, and I'm sure she'll come back to take her role again as Puu, but for now, we are in need of senshi. So, with that in mind, we have recruited 4 more girls. You maye have seen her already, but we have Angie as Makoto/Jupiter. We've wanted her to be Jupiter for a while, but we finally have her in it, and we're excited. Also, we have the amazing super-awesome hair, Bryn-Bryn, aka

to cosplay as our Uranus(third times a charm lol). I will post sometime tonight with how she looks in a Uranus wig to show you guys her awesome <3. Please make her feel welcome by stopping by to say hi :3. We also have Erin, who is going to be our new Puu, and also Katie as our Saturn/Mars...it just really depends on the need for cosplay. They don't have DA accounts yet, but we'll get into that sometime later.

Now that that's out of the way, there's another thing I need to mention. We are going to ColossalCon in June. Just to give everyone a heads up. And there are some pretty kickass cosplays in the works as well..I probably can't say them, so I won't to keep the suspense :3. I know, I'm a bitch, but you love me anyways, so it all works out XD.Just keep on the lookout for awesome pictures. We will be doing a lot this summer, so I'm sure there will be lots of pictures :3 Even some more video~!

Anyways...wow, it's almost been a month since I've updated this bitch. XD Baaad me....Well, there really hasn't been much to update with, honestly. BUT! In other news, I don't know if you guys have noticed, but We're going to be at Tekko this year. And by we, I don't really know exactly what the group is going to entail, but as far as I know as a definitely, we has

, and POSSIBLY, a Brenda and myself(Dawnie). We're not sure yet. Bunny wants me to go and says she pay for it (lord knows she pays too much for me.....BUNNY, YEW SPOILS ME!) XD. I'm assuming there is going to be Super Sailor Scouting at the con...maybe some Princesses roaming around as well...

Updates on cosplay-goodness:

....We still await for the awesome-ness from Brenda, cosplaying Serenity and Princess Kraehe. Um, I've been informed she's also doing some sort of ChibiUsa outfit..not like a sailor outfit or anything, but yeah, she's gonna be in this foofy dress that she's designing and from what she told me, it sounds wonderful :3.

will possible be cosplaying Lolita Doll counterparts with Brenda...and that is going to be joygasmically amazing. :3. And hopefully one of these days, she'll be cosplaying Misuzu from the Kill-yourself-anime(in what Bunny has dubbed it to be), aka AIR. Not only that, but we were thinking of recreating a FF8 room, where you first meet Edea, and have Miss Haley cosplay Rinoa. I know I'm super jazzed for that. :3

There aren't really any other particular cosplays for everyone else that have come to everyone's mind yet, but I will inform everyone when we do :3

For a group project..something kinda small, we may be doing Evening wear, Senshi. Everyone seems to be liking the idea of it...going out to somewhere fancy and taking shots there may be fun ^_^ Here are the kinda dresses we were looking at for us, as a basic idea:

But you guys get the jist, right? Right.

One more thing we're planning on putting together...and this is just going to be a bear, that's for sure, but one of our biggest projects to date, and it's not really for cosplay, because the cosplay is done. Our project is to have Haley cosplay as Yuna once more and perform the sending. And we're going to have video for this...try to make this as professional-looking as possible. Diana and I got on some sort of roll and talked about it. We're going to have some sort of plastic platform for her to walk around on water on....so it looks like she's really walking on water XD. There are a few issues, but we might be able to work them out...-_- Now we just need someone whose awesome with video editing...or video in general lol. We'll do it! :3. We're gonna go where no cosplayer has gone before....Space, the final fron-*is hit with a book*

OW. Okay nevermind...but we are going to do some pretty cool stuff,,,,and we might have some other interesting projects along the way :3 Stay tuned!

Who are we?
Not to be fooled by the account name, but this is a cosplay group, called the Cosplay Muffins.

If it's called the Cosplay Muffins, then why did you name it DawnieMewMew?
*sigh* because I originally, this account was going to be just for my(

s) photography, and somehow it ended up as a cosplay account.

Who came up with the idea/name Cosplay Muffins?
It was a mixture of

's idea that put it together.

What is everyone's jobs in this group?

are the main masterminds of our operations, and both make the costumes, dying/constructing wigs and making pieces/weapons for the outfits.

runs this account for the most part, and is the photographer, aritst, and cosplayer, but mostly does photography.

is our Jesus...It's hard to believe that Jesus makes a good Puu, but hey, it happens. :3

is our ball of all that is cute and is a fantastic artist, and eventually our video-person lol. Also a seamstress in training :3.

to be dead smexy, and make adorable plushies :3, as well as sew awesomeness.

Um, well, for distance and lack of desire to cosplay reasons, we just thought it was best to take them down. They're not dead, if that's what you wanted to know X3.

As honored as we all feel from everyone asking us to come to different cons, we are but poorly college students. Cosplay just takes lots of money out of us on top of a Con. So the farthest we've gone is AnimeCentral. Unless you guys wanna pay for our way there, we'd be more than happy to go. XD.

Can I make a suggestion for you girls for the next cosplay or for a cosplay pose?
Sure! We're always open to new cosplays. We all do prefer frilly/pretty things, so anything like that is always good. Or we can always take other things into consideration. If you do have a suggestion, please feel free to send a note to this account.

Can I commission something?
If it's a full costume, that would be a bit difficult, because our seamstresses need you to be there to measure. Wigs/WigDyings, accessories, or different things like that they can do. If you want a commission, please visit either

Is there anyway for me to set up a photoshoot with you for my costume?

Me and my friends have started a cosplay group, we have come up with several names, but my friend Alden refuses to stop asking peoples votes because she's hoping that she'll have her idea win. I would like all your opinions on the name we should choose, I will not tell her what you said, I would just like to ask someone she can't pester about choosing hers instead... : Um, I'm having a hard time between Cosplay Noodles and Aricon. I love them both, but here's the thing. With Cosplay Noodles, it's pretty much like almost every other cosplay group (ie cosplay muffins, cosplay pirates, etc.) so you want something a little more unique, but while Aricon sounds unique, it sounds more like a convention then a cosplay group. Maybe change it to Aricos?

This is for the entire group basically for whomever would like to answer. Its something I come across a lot and just recently have been shot down for. My first cosplay was a harry potter cosplay which was cool and I had a lot of fun dressing up and all of my friends and I taking pictures of our cosplay. But I was told some horrible things, mostly about my size and weight from offline threads, and I know that eventually if we get more and more noticed that more people will want to say these things. How do you guys deal with mean or nasty comments? I try to ignore them and not let them get to me, but I usually end up hurt and scared to pursue or post anymore costumes that I have done.

from Dawnie's perspective, I don't know if you've heard Bunny's comments on this yet, but you really shouldn't let it get to you at all. I know that it's not an easy thing to deal with when someone tells you to ignore it. You really can't. I know I've had maybe one or two comments like that in the past. But really, they're just being stupid people that have no respect for the cosplay itself. Try to ignore it the best to your ability and don't let them ruin what you love. And maybe, losing a little weight never hurts. I'm just saying it, because I know I have to badly. I has a tummy that just SUCKS for cosplay. But you'll feel good and wanna look more awesome for cosplay. Or you can ask
